U.S. Releases Complete List of Troops Killed in Saturday's Copter Crash

Among the lost are four Californians, including an airman from Long Beach, and two assigned to a West Coast unit.

The Department of Defense on Thursday released the names of the 30 servicemen who died when their helicopter was shot down in Afghanistan five days ago.

In addition, Rear Admiral Sean A. Pybus, commander of Naval Special Warfare Command released a statement praising the 22 SEALs, specialists, other crew members and eight Afghan nationals who were among those killed, saying, “We will honor their service and sacrifice, and embrace their families as our own, in this time of immeasurable grief.”
