Property Taxes Due April 10

About two-thirds of those who owe have yet to pay, according to the county. They have a week left.

The majority of those owe the second installment of property tax bills have not paid up in San Diego County, prompting Treasurer-Tax Collector Dan McAllister to urge land owners to file quickly so they don't get caught up in a last-minute rush.

Almost 979,000 bills were mailed out and nearly 617,000 still have an unpaid installment, McAllister said Monday. Payments are due April 10.

“Our branch offices are all ready to serve our taxpayers,” McAllister said. ”We are expecting a busy week at the tax collector's office because we have more than 60 percent left of the second installment to collect. Pay early and avoid the rush.”
