City Seeks Public's Help in Death of Dog Pierced by Arrow
The badly decomposed body of the dog was discovered Wednesday.
City public service workers made a gruesome discovery Wednesday afternoon, when they found a decomposed dog with an arrow through its body in a storm drain.
The dog was described as about the size of a terrier, but because of the decomposition the breed and gender could not be determined. The arrow, described by police as a “sporting arrow,” had struck the animal in the midsection.
The workers had been in the middle of a routine cleanup of city storm drains when they reached the 900 block of Alameda Boulevard at 1:55 p.m. and found the animal.

“We’re trying to find anyone who might know a little more about what happened,” said police Cmdr. Jesus Ochoa. “We also are looking for the owner of the dog.”
