Willard Potts Dies at 90; Cays Resident Was WWII Vet

He moved to the Cays in retirement more than 20 years ago, after owning small businesses.

Willard Potts, a Coronado Cays resident and one-time stationery store owner, died June 19, according to Legacy.com. He was 90.

The Kansas native, who was known as Gene, was a World War II veteran who was part of the Air Force.

He ran Willard Stationery and Office Supply in the region before living for a time in Pasadena. After his retirement in 1991, he and his wife Mary moved to Coronado.

Services are set for 10 a.m. Aug. 2 at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in Point Loma. Donations may be sent to Hospice of San Diego or St. Jude's Hospital.
