Patch Pet: Amelia

Amelia is young and very social with animals and people.

When her family split, Amelia was left out. She came to the Coronado Animal Care Facility last April with her mama cat and four siblings. She was cared for by her mom for the first four weeks of her life and then went to a foster home until she was ready to be spayed. This gave her the best of both worlds – a mama to nurture and teach her and a human foster to help her get used to people.

This made her extremely social – and we still see that in her today. Amelia was adopted by a young couple at the end of May 2012. Last week they brought her to the ACF to relinquish her saying that they were splitting up and moving and could not keep her.

She is easy going, affectionate and social and has been having fun reuniting with staff and volunteers. In addition to her beauty and charm, Amelia has a confident and outgoing personality that makes her a favorite of everyone.

Hurry down to the ACF and get to know Amelia! You can meet her at the Coronado Animal Care Facility any day between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. (except holidays). The Coronado Animal Care Facility is located at 1395 1st Street at the south end of the Ferry Landing complex.

If you are interested in adopting Amelia, you must first complete a Cat Adoption Application and meet with a PAWS of Coronado Cat Adoption Counselor. Cat Adoption Counselors are on call everyday from noon to 3 p.m.

P.S.:
Despite the fact that it's against PAWS of Coronado and the Coronado ACF guidelines and a legally binding contract was signed, Amelia was declawed.

Amelia’s Stats: Female, 1 year old, domestic short hair, grey & cream muted calico, front declawed, good with cats, shots up to date, spayed, microchipped, adoption fee, $50.
