Patch Pet: Kimmy

Kimmy, abandoned in the park, loves to draw attention from people and is trying to learn to be around other cats.

Kimmy is a beautiful female domestic short hair, a muted Calico, estimated to be between 1 and 2 years old. She was found near the beach at Tidelands Park, dirty, thin and crying for food.

Kimmy is great with people, very affectionate and welcoming. You will frequently find her sitting up high on a shelf or even on top of the bank of cages in her room. As soon as she sees a person, she paws at them for attention – even if they are on the other side of the window!

It doesn't seem as if she has had a lot of experience with other cats. She shies away from them with a hiss, but will watch her feline roommates intently trying to figure out what they are doing playing together. She is an intelligent cat and we think she will figure it out and be fine living with other cats.

Kimmy will be a wonderful feline companion, and she will delight you with her acts of love.

Kimmy and other pets are available for adoption at the Coronado Animal Care Facility, 1395 1st St. Hours of operation are 9 a.m.-4 p.m., everyday but major holidays.
