Arrests

  • Use/Under influence of controlled substance: 52-year-old transient man was arrested on the 1000 block of Orange Avenue at 1:19 p.m., Aug. 26.
  • Outside Warrant/Felony: 57-year-old La Jolla man was arrested at 9th Street and Orange Avenue at 7:29 p.m., Aug. 27.
  • Use/Under influence of controlled substance: 30-year-old transient arrested on the 700 block of Orange Avenue at 6:19 p.m., Aug. 27.
Crimes
  • Grand theft: 1500 block of Orange Avenue, Aug. 18 to Aug. 21, Earrings worth $9,000 and necklace worth $3,200.
  • Petty theft: 1000 block of Orange Avenue, 2:55 p.m., Aug. 21. A man cut the lock from a bike. The owner caught the suspect in the act. The suspect fled the area on foot. The bicycle owner chased him down on her bicycle and he was briefly detained by a bystander.
  • Theft: 1100 block of 10th Street, 1 to 2:30 p.m., Aug. 25, Nevada license plate removed from parked motorcycle.
  • Burglary: 200 block of E Avenue, 6:45 p.m., Aug. 27 to 5:45 a.m., Aug. 28, fingerless glove worth $25 and $3 in loose change taken from locked vehicle.
  • Burglary: 800 block of Orange Avenue, 10:30 a.m., Aug. 28, $953 worth of toiletries.
  • Indecent exposure: 900 block of Orange Avenue, 7 a.m., Aug. 29.
Collisions
  • Orange Avenue at B Avenue, 2:08 p.m., Aug. 14.
  • Strand Way at Guadalcanal Road, 7:05 p.m., Aug. 19.
