Coronado Police Partner with San Diego Food Bank for Food Drive

Drop off nonperishable foods at the Coronado Police Department from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday

Some 15 percent of the population in San Diego County live in poverty, with many facing “food insecurity,” which means that little or no food is available at home. 

To help with this need, the Coronado Police Department is hosting a food drive this holiday season. The Police Department will accept nonperishable food items from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, through Dec. 31.

The most needed items are:

  • Canned Meats: Tuna in water, Chicken
  • Dry or Canned Beans: Black, Pinto, Kidney, Low Sodium 
  • Cereal: Low Sugar, Whole Grain or Bran 
  • Rice: Brown, Wild Rice 
  • Nuts and Seeds: Almonds, Unsalted, Flax seeds 
  • Peanut Butter: No Sugar Added 
  • Canned Soup: Low Sodium, Low Fat 
  • Canned or Dried Fruit: Packed in water or own juice 
  • Canned Vegetables: Low Sodium or No Salt Added 
  • Powdered Milk: Low or Non-Fat 
  • Pasta: Whole Grain
  • Infant Formula
