Coronado Soroptimist Club Has Record Teddy Bear Drive [Photo]

The Coronado Soroptimist annual Teddy Bear Drive brought a record number of stuffed bears to the Coronado Police Department this month to support the Law Enforcement Teddy Bear Drive, which brighten the holidays for children at Rady Children's Hospital.

The Law Enforcement Teddy Bear Drive was started by Coronado Police Officer Brian Hardy in 1990. According to the hospital, Hardy drove to the hospital to make a special delivery during the holidays to sick and injured patients.

Since then, the teddy bear drive has donated more than 1 million teddy bears and other stuffed animals to Rady Children's. This year's goal was to donate more than 60,000.
