Born in Lincoln, Nebraska, Mark grew up living the life of the typical military dependent.  He moved to Coronado in 1974 with his parents and five siblings and graduated from Coronado High School (CHS) class of 1978.  
Mark was a five sport letterman competing in Football, Basketball, Track & Field and Volleyball at CHS and Swimming at James W. Robinson High School (Fairfax, VA) as a freshman. As a senior Mark was voted a MVP by the Islander Football team and Top Ten Islander Athlete for the 1977-1978 school year. A graduate of San Diego State University, Mark joined the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity in Fall ’79, attended the John O. Moseley Leadership School at the Levere Memorial Temple in Evanston Illinios and held leadership positions at the SDSU chapter including, Eminent Archon (president); Alumni Relations, Sports Chairman, Social Chairman, Pledge Trainer, and Little Sister Liaison.  Mark received the highest recognition - "The Order of the Pheonix" - for outstanding commitment and loyalty to the Fraternity as an undergraduate brother.  He also served on the Inter-fraternal Council's Judicial Board at SDSU. Mark built a successful career for himself in the information technology industry since graduating from SDSU.  He has had various sales and sales management positions at Seagate, Sun Microsystems and NetApp.  He currently leads the U.S. Public Sector sales team for NetApp, Inc. in California and Hawaii. Mark has been active as an age group sports volunteer working with soccer, basketball and swimming organizations. Most recently he served as a Meet Director for USA Swimming including the 2009 - 2013 Far Western Short Course Championship. Mark, his wife Sandy, and daughters Stephanie and Lindsay moved to Coronado in 2012.  He serves on the Islander Sports Foundation. As Director, Alumni Relations Mark is working to bring together the community of like-minded CHS Islander Sports Alumni interested in helping to sustain the proud 100 year tradition of Islander Sports for future CHS student-athletes. Mark is completing his Masters, Sports Management from American Military University and hopes to use what he learns to continue to serve the community of Coronado. Mark is helping to plan the 100 Year Islander Sports celebration and will serve as Tournament Director at the inaugural Islander Invitational Golf Tournament at the Coronado Golf Course on July 3, 2013.
