Mary Grace Braun, Neighbor

Raised in Coronado, I graduated from CHS in 2013 and am currently a freshman Journalism major at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. I love it here! As an aspiring news broadcaster, I believe there is no better place to learn the trade than at the epicenter of U.S. politics. I am a member of GW TV News, the student-run news organization, so I report on campus events, create news packages, and assist in the delivery of the monthly news show. I also joined a sorority, Delta Gamma, which has encouraged me to do good (our motto) on campus and in the greater DC area, by volunteering, participating in fraternity philanthropies, and raising money for our philanthropy Service for Sight. I enjoy collaborating with others and getting involved, both through promoting school spirit and engaging in service. I strive for excellence both in the organizations I am involved with and in academics. For the fall semester, I made the Deans List for Academic Excellence in the Columbian College of Arts and Sciences. I hope my hard work pays off by landing an internship at a news station in D.C. next year.

As the youngest of five children, I happily express my ideas and let my voice be heard. I love writing, and I am happy to be a blogger for Coronado Patch. I love working with the roller coaster of thoughts cruising in my brain and releasing them in words on paper. My hope is that my ideas and descriptions can speak to you and move you as a reader.
