Genevieve A. Suzuki has been a journalist for more than a decade. Her former incarnations include Honolulu Weekly arts and entertainment editor, Honolulu Star-Bulletin city reporter and Hawaii Herald writer. She is also the author of The Original Poi Cats on O'ahu, a Hawaii-based children's book featuring local points of interest. She continues to write for several publications, including San Diego News Room, San Diego Lawyer Magazine and AroundHawaii.com. In addition to writing and surfing the Net, Gen enjoys traveling and learning about different cultures and towns. She has a bachelor's degree in journalism and minor in speech from the University of Hawai'i at Manoa, and a law degree from California Western School of Law. Gen lives with her husband, Derek, their toddler daughter, Quinn, and her mom in La Mesa, Calif.
