Coronado's community center is the one of the city's finest attributes. The building was completed in 2005 and is located on Strand Way, just south of City Hall. This state-of-the-art, 90,000-square-foot facility includes a pool complex with a 50-meter competitive pool and a shallow recreational pool, a gym with NCAA regulation-sized basketball courts with lines for volleyball and badminton, an indoor climbing wall, a fitness center with updated equipment and stunning bay views, a dance studio, a community theater playhouse and a lobby with a snack bar and lounge areas.

The Nautilus Banquet Room is available for private parties (The Knot magazine even named this location a "top pick" for weddings, as voted by local brides). The room can seat about 300 people and boasts sweeping views of Glorietta Bay and the San Diego-Coronado Bay Bridge. The Center has a fully equipped catering kitchen, for private party and playhouse use. It also offers two additional activity and meeting rooms for community gatherings.

In addition, the building contains the administrative offices for the Department of Recreation Services.
