Pearl Harbor Remembrance Ceremony at Imperial Beach Pier Saturday

Fleet Reserve Association Branch 289 will host their annual Pear Harbor remembrance ceremony at 8 a.m. Saturday. 

Imperial Beach veterans will meet on the pier and hold a ceremony to remember Dec. 7, 1941 Pearl Harbor attacks in which more than 2,000 lives were lost.

The event chair is Charles van Valkenburgh, whose grandfather Captain Franklin van Valkenburgh was the commanding officer of the USS Arizona.

Bill Landry from Fleet Reserve Association Branch 289 will be the event's co-chair.

FRA Branch 289, VFW Post 5477, American Legion Post 820 and the City of Imperial Beach also helped coordinate the memorial.
