Here are five events and tidbits Coronado residents should know about during the week of Dec. 16 to Dec. 22.

Be a part of An American Christmas at the Hotel Del Coronado

Join the Lamb's Players Theatre for a holiday-themed show and dinner at the Hotel Del Coronado. The hotel's ballroom whisks you back to 1913 for a memorable celebration with music, dance, story, song and laughter, all a 5-course meal. The show is in it's 22nd season. Tickets are $120 to $160 and can be purchased online.

Teen Movie Wednesday

Get into the holiday spirit with a holiday film. The Coronado Library at 640 Orange Ave. will show Fred Claus to teens in 6th through 12th grades on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m.

Welcome Winter

Saturday is the first day of winter, we don't always acknowledge this season in Southern California, but after a period of unusual cold weather and pleas to conserve natural gas, it sure feels like winter. Here's a link to the official winter forecast.

Holiday Giving
The week before Christmas is a great time to donate food to needy local families. Consider a donation of food or funds to the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank. The Food Bank serves an average 32,000 people per month in San Diego County.
