5 Must Attend Events in Coronado for Dec. 2 - Dec. 7
Looking to get out the house. Here are five can't-miss events in Coronado this week, including the annual Christmas Parade, holiday festival at the Hotel Del Coronado and manly competition at Village Pizzeria Bayside.
Hairy Situation at Village Pizzeria Bayside - Movember Contest Judging
Come out to see the judging of Coronado-based Blue Bridge Hospitality's Movember contest on Tuesday at 6 p.m. A total of 11 contestants have been growing their facial hair for more than a month now. The contestant with the wildest, wackiest and manlist 'stache will take home the first place prize and have $500 in his honor donated to The Men's Health Network. The judging will take place at Village Pizzeria Bayside located at Coronado Ferry Landing-1201 First St, Coronado CA 92118. Plus there will be happy hour specials.
Santa's Coming and the Coronado Christmas Parade
Santa will visit the Coronado Ferry Landing at 3:20 p.m. on Friday. The jolly old man will visit with carolers. Then the 38th annual Coronado Christmas Parade will travel down Orange Avenue at 6 p.m. Orange Avenue will be shut down to traffic. Then at 7 p.m., a Christmas tree will be lit at Rotary Plaza (next to the Visitor Center at 1100 Orange Ave.)
Hotel Festival at Hotel Del Coronado
Celebrate the 125th year of holiday magic at the Hotel del Coronado at the Holiday Festival on Wednesday, Dec. 4. The Del will be transformed into a winter wonderland, complete with Santa Claus and his elves at Santa’s Village and holiday booths with games and prizes. Plus, there will be singing, ice skating and fireworks! Read more here.
41st Annual Artisans' Alley Craft Faire
More than 180 booths of handmade crafts from all over San Diego County will gather at the Artisans' Alley Craft Fair on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Village Elementary School. Proceeds go to help the Coronado Middle and High School Band and Choir programs, including the purchase of a new clarinet and their annual Disneyland competition. Both schools' bands and choirs perform during the event. For more information see artisansalley.org.
