The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County fell today for the 25th time in 26 days, decreasing 1 cent to $4.097.
The average price has dropped 27.5 cents over the past 26 days, including 1.4 cents on Sunday. It is 10.6 cents less than one week ago and 16.1 cents lower than one month ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. However, it is 16.1 cents higher than one year ago.
The decreasing pump prices are the result of a "substantial drop" in wholesale gasoline prices, according to Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
