The SD County Fair is Back! Get Your Fair Facts Here

The fair kicks off Saturday and runs through July 4. We'll help you with a guide to costs, fair food, parking, entertainment and more.

Is your tummy ready for deep-fried chocolate chip cookie batter? You can get that and more at the annual San Diego County Fair that will open Saturday morning and run through July 4.

What do you need to know about one of the region's favorite summer jaunts, not just for junk food, but for rides, exhibits and many, many contests? Here you go:

What's it cost? Adult fair admission is $14, with an $8 rate for seniors 62 and over and children ages 6-12. Children under 6 get in free. Watch for discount days.

What's the other stomach-challenging cuisine offered this year? Krispy Kreme Sloppy Joes, bacon cotton candy and lobster nachos.


What's the theme? "Game On!" celebrating classic board games, pinball and computer and video games. For instance, a 10-foot square Monopoly board and race car token will be available for photo ops, and tournaments are scheduled for Monopoly and role-playing card games such as World of Warcraft, Legend of the Five Rings and Yu-Gi-Oh.

What are the best parking options? Fair lots are usually full by late morning. Organizers suggest using public transportation or off-site lots where there are free shuttles.

They are located at:

  • The Del Mar Horsepark, 14550 El Camino Real
  • the MiraCosta College campus in Cardiff by the Sea, 3333 Manchester Ave.
  • Torrey Pines High School, 3710 Del Mar Heights Road.

Buses leave the off-site lots every 15-20 minutes.
