The elite Navy unit hosted Woods in Coronado in 2006, but the contact went no further, a spokesman says, despite an author's claims in an upcoming book.

Update, 3:50 p.m. Hank Haney, the author of the book that makes the claim Tiger Woods wanted to be a SEAL, answers questions from sports talk show host Jim Rome regarding his claims that the golfer wanted to be a SEAL. Haney, a one-time employee of Woods, defends his understanding of the golfer's intentions.

 

Fox Sports reports that the Navy SEALs are denying a claim in an upcoming book that Tiger Woods wanted to join their elite ranks.
