Racers Hit the Streets, the Water and the Base for Sports Fiesta

They compete in the triathlon and other races at Sunset Park, North Island and on the beach.

The Coronado Optimist Club held the closing events of the 40th Annual Sports Fiesta Saturday and Sunday. On tap were the Master 10K run, Master Swim and triathlon. The events were held at Sunset Park and on North Island. The club uses the event to raise money to support Coronado youth. According to club President Irish Flynn, the fiesta hosts one of the oldest triathlons in the U.S., next to Hawaii's Ironman.
