Meet more local U.S. Olympians!
A total of in the Olympics in London, which start Friday. Several of those athletes call San Diego County home. Their sports include water polo – both local representatives are from Coronado – sailing, cycling and BMX.
While the U.S. Olympic Committee lists just 15 athletes with a “hometown” of San Diego County, several more have an affiliation with America’s finest city and the USOC Training Center Chula Vista.
Athletes not included on the list and with ties to San Diego include 800 meter runner , field hockey players Julia and Katie Reinprecht and marathon runner and San Diego High School graduate Meb Keflezighi.
