Valentine’s 10K: The Run and the Fun

See how the lovebirds and the serious runners enjoyed the second annual Tidelands Park charity event.

It was a little cool and damp for the , but top runners and weekend warriors still came out to make strides, show off their best Cupid workout wear and try to claim the crown that goes to anyone who sets a course record.

In the women’s race, one local, Cassie Bando, finished in the top 10. No locals were among the top finishers on the men’s side (about a quarter of the 2,000 entrants were from Coronado, according to organizers). Check the link and scan the categories for a full list of those who competed in the 10K.

Proceeds from the race benefit the Islander Sports Foundation and the Wampler Foundation.

This is a great event. Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped make it a fun and enrichingRead More experience for my family. We need to get the word out about this helpful event in Coronado for the future. It was a learning experience for children and adults alike. I feel better now with my daughter riding her bike on the busy streets of Coronado. Thanks again to all of the Police Officers, Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts and local volunteers.
