Coronado Home Harvest Free Fruit, Veggie and Flower Exchange

Coronado Home Harvest, our town’s monthly free homegrown fruit, vegetable and flower exchange, meets in front of the Winn Room of the Coronado Public Library Saturday, May 21. If you have extra herbs, fruit, veggies, seeds, plant cuttings, or whatever to share, bring a bag full to the Home Harvest between 9 and 10 am. Return to the Winn Room at 11 and pick up your bag now filled with a selection the best of Coronado’s gardens. If you don’t have a garden, find a neighbor and partner up. If you have no access or no harvest, be creative and bring a homemade item. Just  prepackage it and if it is food, include ingredients for those with allergies.

Also at 11am in the Winn Room you will be treated to a great program on natural pet nutrition, given by  Karen Scoggins of My Perfect Pet (a locally made fresh pet food carried at Wag’n Tails Pet Store). As we have discovered, fresh, whole food is best...for humans and for our pets.  As stated so well on Karen's website (myperfectpet.net),  "Fresh, whole foods are healthier, more nutritionally complete, and proven to reduce health issues and lower health care costs.  Fresh, whole food is easily digested even by the most sensitive systems, and pets naturally prefer the taste!  Switching to fresh, whole foods that are safely prepared eliminates a variety of health problems and keeps them energized for a longer, healthier life.”  The benefits we all enjoy from eating fresh, whole foods from our gardens can be shared by our pets as well.  Come learn from Karen what goes in to making healthy whole foods for our furry kids.

Coronado Home Harvest is open to all. More information is available at www.coronadohomeharvest.org.
