CHS Art of Giving Club Holds Art Supply Drive for Teens at Promises2Kids

Coronado High School’s Art of Giving Club is hosting an art supply drive to benefit teenagers at Promises2Kids Polinsky Children’s Center, the county’s only emergency shelter for abused and neglected children.  The drive will run March 27th through April 10th, 2012.

Donations of art supplies will help teens transitioning from abusive homes to foster families. Through this drive they will have journals, writing instruments and painting material to use as creative outlets while they wait to be placed with their new families.

Club President and founder Bianca Valle, along with members of the established “Creativity for a Cause” club, would like to invite the Coronado community to please consider donating any new and unused items from the list below.

The Art of Giving Club was established at CHS in 2010 with “Creativity for Cause” as its mission. The club was recently recognized by the City of Coronado's Cultural Arts Commission as a partner of the Arts Committee. Motivated students with a broad range of talents collaborate on art pieces which have been donated to: Coronado Schools Foundation, Ronald McDonald House, Promises2Kids and other charitable organizations hoping to enhance the recipients' appreciation for art and their surrounding environment. CHS students from all grade levels, backgrounds, and artistic skills share their passion for art, and work to benefit our community through service while establishing links necessary for young people to use their creative energy in a positive and long-lasting way.
