The National Multiple Sclerosis Society in San Diego reports that $470,000 was raised at its recent 26th annual MS Dinner Auction, considered one of San Diego’s largest charity dinner auctions with 700 silent and live auction items. The National MS Society said more than 500 guests attended the charity event held at the Loews Coronado Bay Resort. Proceeds will benefit MS research and programs and services for people living with MS, a chronic, often unpredictable and disabling disease of the central nervous system with no known cause, cure or prevention.
For the second consecutive year, Pacific Wealth Management, an independent boutique wealth management firm, served as title sponsor of the MS Dinner Auction. Founded in 1998, the San Diego-based firm helps high-net worth individuals, families, corporations and foundations preserve and growth wealth. Other sponsors of the 2012 MS Dinner Auction included Absolute Vodka, Barefoot Wines, Clear Channel Radio, Genzyme (NYSE: SNY), KPBS, Leon Hammel Fine Jewelers, Loews Coronado Bay Resort, Nordstrom, Novartis, Questcor, Redfearn & Associates, EMD Serono, Teva Neuroscience, Torrey Pines Bank and United Airlines.
The annual MS Dinner Auction is traditionally held in November as a jump-start to holiday shopping. Silent and live auction packages, ranging from $100 to $25,000, include professional services, home furnishings, consumer electronics merchandise, home-related products and services, a variety of domestic and international vacations, sports memorabilia and gift certificates for dining, entertainment, airfare and hotel accommodations. Other auction packages include fine art and jewelry, wine and spa packages and one-of-a-kind experiences. For more about the 2013 MS Dinner Auction, visit www.MSdinnerAuction.com.
