White House Seeks Asian Americans' Stories

Call for videos is an effort to raise awareness about issues facing Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, and to highlight their community contributions.

The White House is asking Asian American and Pacific Islanders to submit a video on personal stories that have affected people in their community.

The effort, called “What’s Your Story,” can be a 3-minute music video, public service announcement, short film or video blog that discusses important issues facing the Asian-American community. Essays under 1,000 words also will be accepted.

Entries should be submitted online by Nov. 1.

A select group of entries will be posted on the White House website, and some who submit will be asked to attend a White House briefing in the fall to share their stories in-person.

See a video describing the initiative in the media box.
