3 Surveys to Shape Coronado's Future

Like second-hand smoke? Hate bike corrals?

Whatever your opinion, your city wants it.

Coronadans are being asked to weigh in and fill out surveys about three different issues being considered by City Council. Each takes a few minutes and could help determine the future of the Crown City.

1. Second-hand smoking

Laws already exist that ban smoking in bars, restaurants and some rental units but City Council is considering a ban on smoking in some open, outdoor spaces.

Deadline to fill out the survey on paper or online is Friday. City Council will take up the issue and give direction to staff about what to do next at their July 16 meeting.

2. City services online

This survey was released Monday and asks Coronadans to evaluate the city's website and share how they access information from the city online. Deadline to fill out this online survey is July 22. Results will be shared with City Council who may give staff direction to make changes.

3. Bike Corrals

A six-month trial period for bike corrals, special parking spaces on the street for bikes, will last until the end of the year. Eight corrals are installed along Orange Avenue.

Initial feedback collected by city staff about the corrals at a July 16 City Council meeting.

Surveys to share your opinion on the corrals will be available online until the end of the year, said city spokeswoman Janine Zuniga.
