The San Diego County Registrar of Voters has completed its count of absentee and provisional ballots from the June 5 primary election, confirming narrow victories in a few races.

In the 52nd District Congressional primary, Port Commissioner Scott Peters, of La Jolla, edged out ex-Assemblywoman Lori Saldana by 719 votes for the right to face incumbent Rep. Brian Bilbray, R-Solana Beach, in November.

The district covers La Jolla, Coronado and other inland communities, including Poway and Rancho Bernardo.

In their tight race for Superior Court Judge, constitutional lawyer Gary George Kreep edged Deputy District Attorney Garland Peed, 50.2 percent to 49.8 percent.

This is a great event. Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped make it a fun and enrichingRead More experience for my family. We need to get the word out about this helpful event in Coronado for the future. It was a learning experience for children and adults alike. I feel better now with my daughter riding her bike on the busy streets of Coronado. Thanks again to all of the Police Officers, Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts and local volunteers.
