Peters Opens Congressional Campaign Headquarters

Port Commissioner Scott Peters, a candidate for the 52nd Congressional seat, opened a campaign office in his attempt to capture the district that represents Coronado.

San Diego Port Commissioner Scott Peters, a candidate for the new 52nd Congressional District, hosted Assembly members Toni Atkins and Ben Hueso, San Diego Councilman Todd Gloria and former Assembly members Howard Wayne and Mary Salas as he opened a campaign office.

Peters is one of several candidates vying for the seat, which includes La Jolla, Coronado and Poway. Brian BilbrayWayne Iverson, Lori Saldana and John Stahl have entered the race, and former Santee mayor Jack Doyle is considering an independent run.

Peters' campaign office is in Clairemont Mesa. The La Jolla resident is also a former San Diego council member.
