A Shacknai will come before the City Council again Tuesday, but for a far less pleasant reason.
For months leading up to the July 2011 deaths that would transform his life, homeowner Jonah Shacknai sought permission from the city to renovate the Spreckels mansion.
He secured it for the final phases of the project – despite a battle with neighbors and preservationists – two months before his girlfriend and son would die within days of each other following incidents at the mansion.
At Tuesday's 3 p.m. council meeting, Dina Shacknai, his ex-wife, will press her argument that her 6-year-old son did not die as police determined, as the result of an accidental fall from a Spreckels staircase.
Last month, Coronado police rejected her contention that they should take another look at Max Shacknai's case and consider reclassifying his death as a homicide.
In response, Max's mother said “the system has failed us and it has failed Max., route: {:controller=>"articles", :action=>"show", :id=>"police-will-not-re-open-max-shacknai-case-zahau-spreckels-mansion-deaths"} -->” She
this go the way of Jaws in Amity.
RIP Maxie.
Bill Gore used Jonah Shacknai's HEARSAY voicemail as his SOLE REASON to explain Rebecca's sudden/intricate suicide early Wed. morning sometime between 1:00am -3:00am. Jonah asserted that he left a voicemail to Rebecca that Max's condition suddenly turned grave.....that's 50 + hours BEFORE Dina was given that type of dismal medical news. There was NEVER any confirmation from Dr. Peterson at Rady hospital that he informed Jonah late Tuesday night that Max's condition turned grave nor did detectives share info that hospital charts confirmed Jonah's Tuesday night/early am Wed.hearsay dismal medical news. Without Gore "buying into" Jonah's contents of hearsay medical news.....there is no logical reason for a young/fit 32 year old woman with NO drugs/alcohol in her system to commit such a sudden and intricate suicide. So media members.....what say you?
RIP Max.

The key to unravelling this is going to be a more thorough examination of the findings of the coroner, the police reports, and the handling of the case surrounding BOTH Max's and Rebecca's deaths deserve respectful and proper consideration by the District Attorney's office and the Coronado Police Department, and right now, it looks like neither has. From an Outside Observer's viewpoint, I see MONEY on one side, a "disposable" (no offense meant, just bitterness) immigrant on the otherside, and methinks I smell just another government coverup!
So could it be Jonah in his own house leaving a message to someone and a pile of evidence? No, not even remotely possible Could it be Adam? No, same reason. A murder without a message, maybe, but with him being chief suspect? Again, no. Would Nina be so angry as to plan and execute the death with knives, rope, paint, gag and nude body? No. She was just trying to be a supportive twin-sister. So who brought 2 knives, 2 brushes, 2 sets of gloves, the Dr. Pepper can, the water bottle, the paint, the red-dye pepper spray and the rope? So who did it? The two who composed the message on the door. So obvious.
