Coronado Woman, Retired Navy Official Now Part of Grand Jury

They are among 19 San Diego County residents named to the grand jury for the 2013-14 term.

San Diego County has seated 19 new members on its grand jury, which includes a Coronado resident and a retired Navy master chief petty officer.

Caroleen Williams, a director of government and media relations in the private sector, resides in Coronado. Willard Howard, formerly of the Navy, lives in Chula Vista.

Burma Dunn, a Chula Vista retiree who once worked in management at AT&T, also was chosen. Seven others are from San Diego and three others from Vista.

They began their service July 8. Their names were drawn from a pools of 77 others who qualified.

The grand jury investigates complaints about the operations of local government. Recent reports from the panel include an examination of Imperial Beach's finances and adult bullying in San Diego schools.
