Coronado to Enforce Overnight Closures at Tidelands Park

Beginning May 11, all cars and boat trailers parked overnight will be towed at the owner's expense.

is officially closed from 10:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. That has always been the rule. But up until now, the City of Coronado has not enforced it.

All of that will change on Wednesday, May 11, when the Coronado Police Department will begin towing vehicles or other machinery left in the parking lot overnight.

“The policy had not been enforced in Tidelands Park and numerous vehicles, boats and equipment have been left overnight, posing hazards to public safety and blocking street sweeping operations,” the Port of San Diego said in a press release.

Warning signs about the enforcement have been placed at the entrance and throughout the park’s parking lot. Notices have been left on the cars and trailers that are currently parked in the lot. The city will continue to leave notices once a week, until May 11.
