Update: Officer From Amphib Base Killed in Afghanistan

Lt. Christopher E. Mosko, 28, was from Pittsford, N.Y

Update, 10:10 a.m. Saturday: A YouTube account that offers salutes to the fallen from all branches of the military has posted a video with a picture of Lt. Mosko. No other details of his death are discussed, other than the information released by the Department of Defense Friday.

 

The U.S. Department of Defense Friday announced that a Coronado-based sailor was killed in Afghanistan.

Lt. Christopher E. Mosko, 28, of Pittsford, N.Y., died Thursday while conducting combat operations in Nawa district, Ghazni province, Afghanistan.

He was assigned as a Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal Platoon Commander to Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force, Afghanistan, according to the Department of Defense.

Mosko was stationed at EOD Mobile Unit 3, Naval Amphibious Base, Coronado.
