Stolen Car Recovered After Routine Check; Suspect Arrested

An officer checking plates of vehicles is alerted that a Honda Civic was reported stolen in Kern County.

A Honda Civic reported stolen in Kern County was recovered in Temecula Monday afternoon and a Wildomar man was arrested after a police officer ran a routine records check on the car.

Kelly Farran, 35, was driving the car on Old Town Front Street near Rancho California Road around 3:20 p.m. when a Temecula police officer checked the license plate number, which indicated it was reported stolen on Dec. 19, according to police.

Additional officers responded and they performed a high-risk stop of the Civic.

Farran was the only person in the car, and he was arrested without incident and booked into the Southwest Detention Center. During a search of the car officers found illegal prescription drugs and narcotics paraphernalia, according to police.

Farran faces charges of taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent and possession of narcotic substances, both felonies, and being under the influence of a controlled and driving on a suspended license due to DUI. Bail was set at $5,000.

Really brenda..? Sooo many felonies..? Such horrible convictions against my fellow man too huh!?! Drug posession, paraphernalia. Im a real bad influence on the neighborhood kids, are'nt I..? Better get me off the streets asap!!
