Runners Take Over Coronado Bridge for Good Cause

Thousands of San Diegans ran or walk across the San Diego Coronado Bay Bridge this morning to raise funds for welfare programs at local Navy bases.

The 28th annual run/walk is the one chance each year people can cross the bridge on foot.

Racers gathered near the Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel on Park Boulevard before 8 a.m. to cross the bridge before finishing four miles later at Tidelands Park in Coronado.
