Police Blotter: Commercial Burglary at Fabrison's, Scammer Poses as SDG&E and Other Crimes

Crimes

  • Petty Theft: 600 block of Orange Avenue, 3:20 p.m., Sept. 4. Female reported she dropped her phone running for a bus.
  • Petty Theft: 300 block of Orange Avenue, Sept. 9 to Sept. 11. U.S. Post Office reports package valued at $500 was delivered to residence. Never found at location. Contained a girls dress, shoes, makeup bag and cash.
  • Petty Theft: 1000 block of Flora Avenue, 11:20 a.m. to 7 p.m., Sept. 10, bike worth $500.
  • Petty Theft: 100 block of D Avenue, 1 to 1:10 a.m., Sept. 11, bike worth $500.
  • Petty Theft: 800 block of E Avenue, noon to 3 p.m., Sept. 11, bike worth $75.
  • Burglary: 900 block of Orange Avenue, 5:11 a.m., Sept. 12. Nothing removed from business.
  • Grand Theft: 1100 block of F Avenue, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., Sept. 12. A fllght bag and it's contents, including an aviator headset, GPS, flashlight and binoculars, worth $1,570 was taken from parkway outside a residence.
  • Petty Theft: C Alley and Orange Avenue, 7:35 a.m. to 2:20 p.m., Sept. 12, bike worth $200.
  • Petty Theft: 1000 block of 3rd Avenue, Sept. 13 to Sept. 13, bike worth $550.
  • Lost Article: 500 block of 5th St., 6:30 to 9 p.m., Sept. 14, iPhone 5 worth $700.
  • Petty Theft: 1200 Ocean Avenue, 1:30 to 2:30 pm., Sept. 14, bick worth $450.
  • Obtained Money by False Pretenses: 900 block of Orange Avenue, 3:20 p.m., Sept. 17. A business was contacted via phone by a suspect who posed as a bill collector for SDG&E. More than $400 was paid to a false overdue bill in refillable debit cards.
  • Vehicle Theft: 1500 block of 2nd Street, 7:08 p.m., Sept. 18. A 2006 Suzuki GSX-750 was taken by an unknown man.
  • Petty Theft: 500 block of F Avenue, 1:30 to 1:38 p.m., Sept. 18, bike worth $145.
  • Burglary: 1100 block of Adella Avenue, 3:09 a.m., Sept. 22, unknown person forced entry into Fabrison's through a partially opened window. Suspect(s) forced open cash register.
Arrests
  • Possession of Marijuana: 17-year-old male arrested at the Coronado Island Marriott Resort & Spa on the 2000 block of 2nd Street at 7:11 p.m., Sept. 10.
  • Petty Theft: 39-year-old Chula Vista female was arrested on the 600 block of D Avenue at 1:17 p.m., Sept. 12.
  • Outside Warrant: 34-year-old transient was arrested on the 1700 block of Strand Way at 10:21 a.m., Sept. 16.
