Police Blotter: Burglaries and Hotel Thefts

Recent crimes and incidents reported to officers.

Crime:

Petty theft, 800 block of 10th Street, 5:30 p.m., Aug. 30, $200 cruiser bicycle from driveway, victim tried to chase the suspect.

Burglary, 700 block of Orange Avenue, 9:30 p.m. – 3:25 p.m., Aug. 28 – 29, $800 worth of power tools taken from condominium complex shared garage.

Burglary, 1500 Orange Avenue, 4:30 p.m. – 8:48 p.m., Aug. 28 – 31, two bags filled with clothes and shoes were taken from the back of a guest’s trunk at the Hotel Del Coronado.

Burglary, 800 block of G Avenue, 2:30 p.m. – 10:45 a.m., July 31 – Aug. 27, more than 30 items worth $4,300 including bicycles, books and a television were taken from a private residence.

Grand theft, 900 block of Coronado Avenue, 8 p.m. – 5:30 p.m., July 23 – Sept. 5, a $6,000 silverware set was taken.

Theft, 2000 block of 2nd Avenue, 10 a.m. – noon, Sept. 2 – 4, a hotel guest left two rings, two bracelets and a pair of earrings, which were found missing when security went to look for the jewelry.

Petty theft, 200 block of St. Christopher Lane, 7:30 – 9:00 p.m., Sept. 3, a passport, sentry pass and Garmin GPS were taken from a Land Rover.

Theft, 1500 Orange Avenue, 9:30 a.m., Sept. 5, a black mountain bike secured to a car bike rack was taken from the valet area of the Hotel Del Coronado.

Arrests:

Male, 23, DUI and driving with a suspended license, 400 C Avenue, 1:09 a.m., Sept. 5.

Female, 17, trespassing, 650 D Avenue, 12:58 a.m., Sept. 2.

Traffic Collisions:

A bicyclist who had been under the influence hit an object on the side of the road, C Avenue, 1:14 a.m., Aug. 21.

Dodge Caliber turning left hit a Volvo driving straight, B Avenue, 1:05 p.m, Aug. 24.
