Man Attempts to Kidnap 2 Girls in Coronado

Police are investigating an attempted kidnapping of two girls in Coronado on Friday.

Coronado police said two middle-school aged girls were on the sidewalk in the 500 block of F avenue at 7:20 p.m., when a man driving a van pulled up and asked if they needed a ride. 

The girls reportedly ran from the area and called parent.

According to police, the driver was described as a white man with brown hair and highlights. He was driving a burgundy 1980s Chevy type full size van with a dent on the driver's side of the vehicle. There appeared to be a baseball bat on the dashboard, according to the police report.
