Coronado Police Teaching 'Stranger Danger' at Schools

Coronado Police are teaming up with Coronado schools to share an important message.

Coronado detectives have been working with Coronado SAFE's Parent Advisory Council to better educate parents on “stranger danger” and keeping their children safe.

On Friday, Detective Sgt. Diana Drummey and Detective Jackie Hurtado spoke at Village Elementary to address parents' concerns after three reported incidents of strangers asking middle school age students if they wanted a ride or asking them to get into their cars.

Resource materials and reference sites to help keep kids safe were provided, along with accepted stranger safety tips, and figures on local and national statistics regarding child abductions.

Detectives spoke to Sacred Heart students Tuesday, March 11, regarding “stranger danger.”
