Coronado Police Respond to Bomb Threat at Hotel Del

Coronado Police said the suspicious call was confirmed a hoax.

Coronado Police said an unidentified caller made a suspicious call to the Hotel Del Coronado on the 1500 block of Orange Avenue on Tuesday at approximately 11:30 a.m.

"We requested allied agency assistance with dogs as a precaution," said a Lea Corbin, a spokeswoman with the Coronado Police Department. "We did not believe the call was credible but took precautions to ensure the safety of the public."

Patrons at the Hotel Del Coronado did not evacuate. Patrol officers blocked vehicles and pedestrians from entering the hotel for a short period of time, but inside the Hotel continued to operate as usual.
