Coronado Police Award Safe Pedestrian and Bike Awards to Students
Police awarded gift certificates to students for safe travels to school on the first day of class.
Coronado Police recognized nearly 100 students on the first day of class Thursday. Officers handed out gift certificates to students who safely traveled to school on foot and on bike.
The gift certificates are good for a complimentary day of fun at the Coronado Community Center, Skatepark, Club Room and Boathouse.
Lea Corbin with the Coronado Police Department said many students were excited to be recognized for "setting a great example" of safety.
