Reminder: Fire Department to Test Emergency Sirens Tuesday at 10:30

Coronado residents should expect to hear loud warning sirens on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. But not to worry, it's only a test.

The Coronado Fire Department will conduct a test of its emergency warning system on Tuesday. Sirens at all three locations—the , and the —will go off at 10:30 a.m.

This is just a test, and no action is required by residents.

Once the sirens are activated, the sound should continue for about one to three minutes. The system is designed so that everyone will be able to hear the sirens from any location within the City of Coronado.

The warning system was installed in 2002 to alert residents in the event of an emergency. Tuesday’s test will ensure the system and sirens are working properly.

If an actual emergency were to occur, residents should tune their radios to AM 600 (KOGO) to receive further instructions.
