Alleged Laptop Burglar Arrested in Coronado Cays
The laptop belongs to a burglary victim out of Imperial Beach, according to the city.
Police were called at 8:45 a.m. Thursday about a man running into traffic on state Route 75 just south of Cays Boulevard.
When officers arrived, the man ran and jumped over a wall near Tunapuna Lane. Officers could see that the man was holding something under his shirt as he was running away.
After failing to comply, the man continued running to the beach area behind the Cays, where he jumped off the docks near Spinnaker Way and tossed a laptop from under his shirt into the water.
Officers eventually arrested the subject on Blue Anchor Cay. The laptop belongs to a burglary victim out of Imperial Beach.
Harbor Police and Border Patrol assisted with the arrest and recovery of the property.
Charges include parole violation, burglary and possibly others.
