Car Hits 3 Bicyclists; Diamond Rings Stolen from Hotel Room Bathroom

Crimes reported to and arrests made by the Coronado Police Department in the past week.

1:52 a.m., petty theft reported in the 1500 block of Orange Avenue. Bicycle reported stolen from bike rack on boardwalk near Hotel del Coronado worth an estimated $300

2:30 p.m., petty theft reported in the 1100 block of Adella Avenue. Pink Barbie girls bike with streamers and training wheels reported stolen from grandma's apartment complex worth an estimated $80

July 23

9:55 a.m., grand theft reported in the 1500 block of 1st Street. Flat screen television worth an estimated $900 and $5,000 in cash reportedly stolen from residence

8:21 p.m., 33-year-old man arrested for possession of controlled substances and controlled substances paraphernalia and for resisting, delaying or obstructing a police officer in the 200 block of A Avenue

July 22

9:04 a.m., petty theft reported in the 700 block of 10th Street. Bicycle reported stolen from front yard of residence worth an estimated $250

3:45 p.m., 17-year-old boy arrests for possession of 28.5 grams or less of marijuana in the 1500 block of Leyte Road

11:08 p.m., petty theft reported near the RH Dana Place and Ocean Boulevard intersection. Bicycle reported stolen from bike rack worth an estimated $300

July 21

2:04 a.m., 17-year-old boy turned over to parent or guardian following violation of curfew violation

1:21 p.m., petty theft reported in the 1000 block of A Avenue. Two bicycles reported stolen from residence worth an estimated $300

5:32 p.m., robbery reported in the 2000 block of 2nd Street. Man who met woman at bar in downtown San Diego brought her back to his room at the Coronado Marriott. When the two arrived at the hotel, according to the victim, the woman disappeared and two men emerged and pushed him into some bushes where they demanded his money and cell phone. Hotel security arrived and the assailants fled before property was stolen from the victim

10:45 p.m., vehicle theft reported in the 400 block of D Avenue

July 20

1:02 a.m., 22-year-old man arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and causing bodily injury to passenger who complained of pain to nose in the 400 block of G Avenue

8:28 a.m., vandalism reported in the 1000 block of B Avenue. Window of Citywide Electronics Systems Inc. van broken. No property stolen 

11:25 a.m., 63-year-old woman cited and released for petty theft at Naval Base San Diego

12:06 p.m., petty theft reported in the 300 block of J Avenue. Garmin GPS device, cell phone charger and other items reported stolen from car parked in front of residence worth an estimated $290

2:11 p.m., grand theft reported in the 1500 block of Orange Avenue. Assailant entered victim's hotel room at Hotel del Coronado and reportedly stole necklace and two diamond rings worth an estimated $6,000 from a glass cup in the bathroom

3:45 p.m., 16-year-old boy arrested for second degree burglary at Coronado Candy Factory in the 1100 block of Orange Avenue

4:05 p.m., use of another person's personal identification reported in the 1700 block of Avenida del Mundo. Information was allegedly used in an attempt to obtain credit cards

July 19

7:43 a.m., 48-year-old woman arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs in the 2000 block of State Route 75. Driver rear-ended another car near Rendova Road and Silver Strand Boulevard intersection at 7:05 a.m. near Glorietta Bay Park and Naval Amphibious Base Coronado. Woman accused of DUI transported to Balboa Naval Hospital with apparent minor injuries 

10:52 a.m., petty theft reported in the 1000 block of A Avenue. Bicycle and skateboard reported stolen from residence worth an estimated $125

1:48 p.m., violation of court order to prevent domestic violence reported. No location given. Suspect reportedly drove his vehicle past the workplace of the victim who was standing in front of the business

2:52 p.m., 30-year-old woman arrested for burglary and fraudulent use of an access card at Naval Amphibious Base Coronado. Make-up and other items purchased at NAB worth an estimated $150

3:20 p.m., bicyclist hit by vehicle near the 1st Street and H Avenue intersection. Bicyclist complained of injury to forearm, thigh and neck

7:18 p.m., 56-year-old woman arrested for batter on peace officer or emergency personnel in the 1200 block of 1st Street

July 18

1:30 p.m., two-car collision near the 4th Street and Orange Avenue intersection

July 17

6:22 p.m., pedestrian hit by driver in the 1100 block of 1st Street. Pedestrian transported to UC San Diego Medical Center

July 15

12:08 p.m., two-car collision near the 9th Street and Orange Avenue intersection

10:30 p.m., 17-year-old cited and released for curfew violation in the 800 block of Orange Avenue

July 13

12:08 a.m., petty theft reported in the 400 block of 3rd Street. Victim was reportedly scammed over the phone by someone she thought was from her bank into sending $400 for a Visa card

1:17 a.m., petty theft reported in the 1000 block of Orange Avenue. Cash, cell phone, purse, keys, credit cards and other items reported stolen from Leroy's Restaurant worth an estimated $520. A witness saw the alleged assailant in another restaurant before assailant left the area

4:20 p.m., bicyclist hit by driver near the D Avenue and 8th Street intersection

July 12

8:47 a.m., two-car collision near the 4th Street and A Avenue intersection

11:34 a.m., three bicyclists hit by vehicle near the 4th Street and C Avenue intersection. One of three transported to Mercy Hospital with broken toe and lacerations to knee, leg and elbow 

July 11

3:54 p.m., battery on a spouse or cohabitant reported in the 200 block of D Avenue

July 9

6:20 p.m., two-car collision near the Orange Avenue and 2nd Street intersection
