Foothill High School student Danielle Hammer has been missing since Saturday night and did not show up to school this morning, according to her family.

In a statement release by Pleasanton Police, Danielle was last seen around 6 p.m. that evening.

Her sister, Belinda Hammer, says Danielle did not return home Saturday night after hanging out with friends. According to Hammer, her sister was due home at 9 p.m. that night.

Hammer wrote, via email:

"She was last seen in a grey California hoodie, jeans and white vans. She has brown eyes and brown hair. She has braces and is 5'6. She was last seen with Mia Lewis another 15-year-old girl (we don't have much information on her just a cell phone number.)"

Danielle is a white female and weighs about 120 pounds.

Hammer says the family has reported Danielle's disappearance to the police.

Late last night Hammer's family had put out a plea on Danielle's Facebook page:

Really? I feel all to often we do get such good news. Teenager is rebelling and doesn't come home for a night. This kind of thing happens everyday in cities across the Country, only in Pleasanton is it headline news. When was the last time a teenager from Pleasanton went missing and we got the worst kind of news?

So the original poster on pure speculation mentioned a party she heard about that weekend and then spent the rest of her time talking about other parties and situations that had nothing to do with the actual missing girl and some how that is helping? Then I point out how stupid it is to blame everything on parties and how nothing in the police report mentioned any party and that she was presumed a temporary run away teen and was hanging out with people her parents didn't know way earlier in the day. Pleasanton parents crack me up.

Hey Kev- For those us who remember one of our classmates going missing in the 80's to be found stabbed multiple times in the creek, we are thankful each time we don't have to relive that and the uneasy feeling it left in our community. Stop being so pessimistic! Get a life!

So Kev, you would prefer that they didn't find her? Teenage rebelling or not, she could have made a bad decision and left with some guys she didn't know and been raped/murdered. Never know. It's a great thing that she was found and returned to her parents who can now decide what to do with her!

Kev - you are kidding right? One teenager, or any person, missing is one too many. The fact that this one may be one with no apparent bad news is good news but the fact someone was missing is absolutely headline news for a news outlook like the Patch as well as the Pleasanton Weekly. There was NO WORD of this on any news report on TV (broader audience) I saw (other than access cable news) whereas for other communities a teenager is missing results in a manhunt. Your insensitivity to the potential problems of others is astounding. BTW - Pleasanton has had several missing persons, teens and otherwise, that have not resulted in a person returning home apparently safely. Here are some links http://www.examiner.com/article/missing-teen-found-dead-newark-motel http://pleasanton.going.com/articles/missing-teen-found-high-on-meth-with-livermore-man http://www.pleasantonweekly.com/story.php?story_id=2089 http://www.kionrightnow.com/category/234998/the-search-for-sierra-lamar http://www.justice4caylee.org/t17105-shelby-harris-15-yo-pleasanton-ca And that was a 3 minute Google search
