F. Dale Marriott, 82, Long-Time Member of San Diego DA's Office

His services are Thursday May 23 in Coronado.

Services for Francis “Dale” Marriott, 82, a former assistant chief in the South Bay and El Cajon branches of the San Diego District Attorney's Office, will be held Thursday in Coronado, according to Legacy.com. He died May 3.

Marriott was born in Sioux City, Iowa and grew up to join the Army and serve in the Korean War. He graduated from the University of Iowa before moving locally to attend law school at the University of San Diego. He was with the DA's Office from 1973 to his retirement in 1994, the report said.

The father of 5 and grandfather of 14 would have celebrated his 60th anniversary with wife Lois in August. He loved overseas travel, attending theater and museum events and volunteering with the Zoological Society of San Diego.

Services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday May 23 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, according to the report. Donations also may be made in his memory to the Zoological Society or the American Cancer Society.
