Eleanor Noreen O'Brien, 74, Former Kindergarten Teacher

O'Brien died March 16 after a long illness. She taught for 30 years.

Eleanor Noreen O'Brien, 74, a former school teacher in Coronado, died March 16, after a long illness, according to the Westerly Sun, via Legacy.com.

She was born near Rhode Island's border with Connecticut on Dec. 7, 1938.

She graduated from high school in 1956, and from Southern Connecticut State Teachers College in New Haven, Conn., four years later.

According to the report, O'Brien moved to Coronado in 1967, and taught kindergarten for the next 30 years before retiring. 

She is survived by a brother Michael L. (Jill) O'Brien, of Joliet, Ill., and numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Services are planned in Rhode Island.
