Dennis Evans Walker, 70, Army Veteran and Long-time Coronado Resident

The entrepreneur was a passionate golfer and avid sportsman.

Dennis Evans Walker, a Coronado resident for the past 22 years, died May 19, according to Legacy.com. He was 70.

The Army Special Forces veteran had lived in Massachusetts, Colorado, Illinois and Arizona, the report said, before he settled in Coronado. He and his wife Helen were married at the Hotel del Coronado in 1985, and enjoyed the community so much they moved here in 1991.

The father of five and grandfather of six was an entrepreneur and an accomplished golfer, who also enjoyed football and lacrosse. 

Services are set for 2 p.m. June 10 at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery. The family asks that donations be sent to Wounded Warrior Project-San Diego, 2468 Historic Decatur Road, Bldg. 905 Suite #150, San Diego, 92106.
