Lee Land Jr, 86, Dies; One-Time North Island Branch Manager

Land is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lois. He worked at North Island for nearly four decades.

Longtime Coronado resident Lee Land Jr. died April 10, according to Legacy.com. Services are planned for April 25.

He was born Nov. 17, 1926 in Ft. Stockton, TX, then moved with his family to Coronado in 1942. He graduated from San Diego High School, then took a job at Naval Air Station North Island.

He worked at the base at the one-time Rework Facility for nearly 40 years, according to Legacy.com, retiring in 1982 with the title of branch manager in production control.

He enjoyed travel and playing bridge, according to the report, and is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lois, daughters Barbara Land of Chula Vista and Laurie Hahn of Covina and grandson Ryan of Covina.

Services are set for Thursday, April 25, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Coronado. Donations are requested for St. Paul's building fund or VITAS Hospice care.
