Beverly Hamilton, 82, Long-time USO Volunteer, Dies

She spent her childhood in Coronado, then married into the Navy and traveled for several years.

Beverly A. Hamilton, 82, who was born and grew up in Coronado, but left the community for 20 years to follow her husband in his Navy career, died in San Diego June 14, according to Legacy.com

She and the late Emmett lived in Guam, Hawaii, Florida, South Carolina and Washington. 

The mother of five was a long-time volunteer with the USO by 2012 had been named the group's volunteer for the longest period. She won a Lifetime Achievement Award for her work.

Services are planned for noon Aug. 2 at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery.
